The Welcome Pathway's fourth step is Welcome to the Team: Partnership Course, Baptism and Confirmation, Discovery Course (gifts and placement), and leaders' training and safe ministry. The Giftedness team owns this step. (15 min)
June 2026 Gifts tab, 67 people counted:
Currently serving: 42 (63%)
Available to serve, pending pastoral decision: 56 (84%)
Fully qualified: 20 (30%)
Need additional training: 34 (51%)
Parish Council, finance: a replacement is needed for the finance role.
Parish Council: members already hold property, mission, grant applications, and leadership and diocesan courses.
Giftedness, TCM support: train a second person. TCMees need coaching. Recruit: not yet.
Discovery Course: led by a Giftedness team member. Gift Discovery Day: the Rector.
Glorify and Grow: several roles have only one or two people. Music, AV, Service Leading and Prayer Leading need named trainees.
Go and Gregarious: SRE, Promotion and Welcoming each have no one yet in the training column.
Which roles have no trained backup at all? Start with service leading, prayer leading, AV, IT and welcoming.
Who from the 34 needing training will we ask first, and in which course?
Who from the 56 available people can we invite into a role this term? Pastoral decision needed for each.
Are the Welcome to the Team courses (Discovery Course, Leaders' training, Safe Ministry) scheduled, and who is teaching them?
What number of trained people per role should we aim for by the end of 2026?
